Technical aspects of fishing and making a perfect fishing knot.
Fishing is a technical water sports that require multiple techniques for fishing and different methods are adopted in this regard. Having a complete fishing tackle means not to have perfect fishing, for fishing, training about using equipment in proper way is a must otherwise several risks can surround while conducting a fishing activity.
Here, we are going to discuss some fishing knots tie methods and different types of knots and their usage.
1-Arbor Knots:
2-Palomar knots.
3-Snell knots.
4-Specialist Fly Knots.
5-Double surgeon's Loop.
6-Trilene Knots.
7-Uni Knots.
Importance of knot:
We use fishing lines of different standards and different types for fishing and we need to tie them with our fishing reels and fishing rods as a necessary action to cast the line across the fishing ends for proper hooking the fish which is the main stream objectivity, knots play a vital role and tie the hook as we tie the kite with a thread strings. Through fishing reels and with rod help, we cast fishing line and then wait to be hooked in a fish jaws. Hook is tied with special knot type which is called Snell knot that make a strong connection with hook and fishing bait. A lose knot at fishing bait can cause loss of fishing line, fishing hook and bait with lots of time that you have put on casting this all. Attaching a fly over hook needs another type of knot and it is fly knot which fix the fly right upper side of the hook and it displays on water surface for making a perfect illusion to fish to swallow the bait fly and getting hooked against fishing line, here you can imagine that how important a knot is. So investing few hours on learning knot making and practicing knots can save nine!
Arbor Knots:
This kind of knot is for fishing reel and fishing line connections that help to reel the line on reel pulley with a wrapping handle. We can practice this knot by passing line across the reel arbor with tying a knot at overhand standing end and second on ending of the line.
Palomar Knots:
Are normally used for making a direct connection to artificial lyres, hooks and flies types but this type of knot is not much popular for on water imbalance conditions and hang off the hook in water with no illusion affects to fish, fish plays tricks with this and grab the bait out of hook while player simply waits for lure dip. Tying Palomar knot is very simple, make the line in two and pass it through hook eye and then reversely cross the hook between two threads and make a simple knot over it.
Snell Knots:
Snell knots are the most important knots types to fix the fishing line with a hook and bait so little difficult to learn and make this knot but not that difficult to be hesitant.
Follow these instructions and practice the Snell knots:
1-Take a hook in you left hand index and thumb the arrow of the hook should point to right while holding the hook.
2-Pass the one end of the fishing line (leader) through the hook eye and extend it one to two inches past the hook making a little leader ring and now pass the other end of the leader across the hook eye from opposite direction point towards the barb of the hook.
3-Fetch the part of this closest ends to the barb and wrap it for 7 to 8 time around the hook barb.
4-Shanking the both ends slightly and griping the first end of leader which is through the eyelet in your right hand a pull it.
5-On pulling the ends, knot would tighten and simply make the wraps closer to each other and adjust the finishing end and trim the leftover of that little hanging leader end.
A visual assistance can be more affective to learn this procedure)
Traditional ways of fishing
First of all, we will focus on some traditional ways of fishing and would point out that how can we manage the traditional fishing with modern fishing equipments, for this we need some brief studies of following styles:
Trilene Knots:
This is another difficult knot to learn but no need to get confused about, pass a fishing leader from the hook eye and extend it to two inches and now double back the leader and with second time pass through the eye. Now loop around second part of the line for 5 to 6 times and cross the first end through the central double turned leader ring and tight the leader by slightly tightening the both ends and the knot is ready to use. This knot is considered the most powerful method to fix the hook with a fishing line and bears maximum weight and pulls capacities.
Specilist Fly Knots:
Double surgeon's Loop:
Uni Knots:
